My Mother's Answered Prayer
They say life does not come with a manual but a mother and that is the honest truth anyone has ever told me.It even makes more sense when one's mother passes away and you are left to navigate this thing called life on your own.
My mother (MHSRIP) gave birth to three children two boys and one girl and being the only girl God had it that I look like her.Since my mother passed away my brothers have always told me that at least they have me and they will always see mum through me because of our resemblance. In one of these hearty conversations my brother explained to me how my mother was happy when I was born because finally she was holding a baby girl. At that moment it hit me, during her entire life I was my Mother's Answered Prayer. It was an emotional moment for me because I started thinking if I had lived up to her expectations, if I was truly the daughter that she always wanted.
When I was about ten years old my mother fell sick, I was too young to understand the depth of her illness but as
I grew up people would always tell me that when your mum was sick her only prayer was for God to keep her safe until her last child finished school. With God's grace my mum got better and saw me through varsity and unfortunately she passed away a year after my graduation.
Her death broke me and upto now I haven't healed because nothing in life can ever prepare you for such a loss but one thing my close relatives kept on saying to me was your mother's prayer was answered, she always wanted to see you through school and God granted her that wish once again it occurred to me....,
I am My Mother's Answered Prayer
I was thinking about her , something that I do almost everyday and it got me thinking about how our Mother's thoughts and prayers shape and influence our lives, that's just how powerful a woman can be. A woman does not only give birth but nurtures a child, prays for them and provides for them. If they are not super moms I do not know what they are.
The love, faith and hope that our mothers have in us falls on us as responsibilities. For the girl child , the goal is to fulfill our mother's wishes and to be like them and more. Courageous women raise courageous daughters there is no room for slacking because a whole generation of women will depend on us!
We are living in a male dominated society where we constantly have to fight and prove our worth and it gets exhausting at times but when the load gets too heavy please remember that you are your mother's answered prayer and another woman's life is dependent on yours!
